Brenoux is a French commune with 382 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Mende and the canton of Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez (until 2015: canton of Mende-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Brenoussiens .

Brenoux is located in the south of the Massif Central in the Cevennes . Brenoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mende in the north and northwest, Lanuéjols in the east, Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez in the south and south-east and Saint-Bauzile in the west.

The southern part of the Mende-Brenoux airfield is located in the northern municipality .
