Montrodat is a French commune with 1,236 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the canton of Chirac (until 2015: canton of Marvejols ). The inhabitants are called Montrodatiens .

Montrodat is located in Gévaudan in the valley of the Coulagnet river . Montrodat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Léger-de-Peyre in the north and north-west, Lachamp-Ribennes in the north and north-east, Gabrias in the east, Grèzes and Palhers in the south and Marvejols in the west.
