Saint-Privat-du-Fau ( Occitan : Sent Privat del Fau ) is a southern French municipality with 124 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Mende and the canton of Saint-Alban-sur-Limagnole (until 2015: canton of Le Malzieu-Ville ). The inhabitants are called Privatains .

Saint-Privat-du-Fau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Julianges in the north and north-west, Paulhac-en-Margeride in the east and north-east, Le Malzieu-Forain in the south and south-east and Saint-Léger-du-Malzieu in the west and south-west.
