Châteauneuf-de-Randon is a French commune with 550 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Mende and the Canton of Grandrieu .
history
Châteauneuf-de-Randon is a medieval fortress of the Randon family on the road to Mende from around 1150. Bertrand du Guesclin died here in 1380 during the siege of the city.
