Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Grandrieu included the seven municipalities of Chambon-le-Château , Grandrieu , La Panouse , Laval-Atger , Saint-Bonnet-de-Montauroux , Saint-Paul-le-Froid and Saint- Symphories . Its layout corresponded to an area of 220.77 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 4809.

2017: Merger of Bagnols-les-Bains (canton of Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez) , Belvezet , Chasseradès (canton of Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez) , Le Bleymard (canton of Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez) , Mas-d ' Orcières (canton Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez) and Saint-Julien-du-Tournel (canton Saint-Étienne-du-Valdonnez) → Mont Lozère et Goulet
