Canilhac was a French commune with 164 inhabitants last (as of January 1, 2013) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Mende and the Canton of La Canourgue .

With effect from January 1, 2016, it was merged with the Banassac community to form the Commune nouvelle Banassac-Canilhac . However, Canilhac does not have the status of a Commune déléguée .
