Alejandro Valentín

Alejandro Valentín (* 1966 or 1967) is a Uruguayan weightlifter.

Alejandro Valentín began his weightlifting career in 1984. He participated with the Uruguayan team in the 1986 South American Games in Chile . There he won the silver medal in pushing in the weight class up to 52 kg . The following year he was South American junior champion. In 1988 he repeated this triumph in the men's category. In 1994 he was again a member of the team at the South American Games in Valencia in 1994 and won bronze in the class up to 59 kg in both jerks and duels. At the Pan American Games in Mar del Plata in 1995 , he was also a member of the Uruguayan squad. In 2005 Valentín set a South America record in the Masters category for over 35s in the weight class up to 62 kg, which was still in place in 2007. He had torn 95 kg and pushed 123 kg. This was also enough to win the South American title. Up to that year he was also a total of 15 Uruguayan champions. In 2007 he took part in a world championship for the first time at the age of 40 and became world champion in the Masters class (40 to 44 years) up to 62 kg. Valentín, who is a tax clerk at the Banco de Previsión Social , lives in Manga with his wife and daughter . He also has an adult son.
