Georges Detreille
Georges Detreille (born September 9, 1893 in Bourg-en-Bresse , † May 13, 1957 in Ars ) was a French cyclist and Olympic champion in cycling .
Athletic career
Detreille had its greatest sporting success at the Summer Olympics in 1920 in Antwerp , when he and the French team with Fernand Canteloube , Marcel Gobillot and Achille Souchard the team standings in the road race won. In the individual time trial , he finished 6th.
In 1921 he first became an independent , then in 1922 a professional in the JB Louvet team , in which Henri Pélissier and Francis Pélissier were also under contract. He rode the 1926 Tour de France , where he was 19th in the final classification. With 3rd place in the Paris – Bourges race in 1923 he had his best result in a renowned road race .
