Ragnar Malm
Karl Oskar Ragnar Malm (born May 14, 1893 in Stockholm , † March 30, 1958 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish cyclist .
Malm was Swedish champion in the 100 km individual time trial in 1912 and took part in the Summer Olympics in his hometown that same year . Together with Erik Friborg , Algot Lönn and Axel Persson , he won the team classification in the road bike race, which resulted from the individual results in the individual time trial. In the individual ranking, Malm took eighth place behind Friborg.
In 1913 Malm was national team champion, in 1917 he managed to become national champion in the individual time trial. 1918 was particularly successful for him, he defended his championship title and with his teammates also the team championship. He also won a 318 km long cycle race, Around Mälaren , and a second national championship, these two victories he repeated in 1919. In 1919, he won the team championship again.
After Malm was deprived of participation by the cancellation of the Olympic Games in 1916, he contested the road bike race again in 1920 at the Games in Antwerp . This time he took seventh place in the individual standings and the Swedes came second in the team standings. In 1920 Malm was again national individual and team champion in the 100 km race.
In 1921, 1922 and 1923 Malm won again around Mälaren , in 1921 and 1922 also the national individual championship. In 1924 he played his third Summer Olympic Games in Paris . Malm took 17th place in the individual ranking, the Swedish team with Malm, Gunnar Sköld and Erik Bohlin won the bronze medal.
