Ottavio Cogliati

Ottavio Cogliati (born June 4, 1939 in Nerviano ; † April 10, 2008 in Magenta ) was an Italian cyclist and Olympic champion in cycling .

Athletic career

After some success in national races, he was nominated for the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome . There he won the gold medal in the team time trial together with Antonio Bailetti , Giacomo Fornoni and Livio Trape . After the Olympics, he became a professional driver in the Italian team Philco. In 1962 and 1963 he competed in the Tour de France , but retired in 1962 on the 6th stage and in 1963 on the 3rd stage. In 1963 he was 21st in the Tour de Suisse . In 1964 he ended his career in which he could not achieve any success as a professional driver.

Professional

After his career he worked in a beverage trading company.
