history

The headquarters of the wheel and roller specialist Blickle in Rosenfeld

The company was founded in 1953 when Wilhelm Sülzle split his hardware factory into three independent companies among his sons and son-in-law Heinrich Blickle. The newly founded company Blickle continued the production of the iron wheelbarrow wheels and developed a range of wheels, swivel castors and fixed castors from them. After the death of the company founder Heinrich Blickle, his wife Elisabeth Blickle took over the management in 1961. The first international Blickle sales company was founded in Switzerland in 1967 .

In 1972, a new administration and production building was built in the Rosenfeld industrial area, where the company's headquarters are still located today. In 1977, Reinhold Blickle, the oldest son of the company founder and thus the second generation, joined the company. In the early 1980s the administration building was expanded. In 1992 Blickle took over the production area “apparatus rollers” from the company Hülsbeck & Fürst in Velbert . In 1998 Blickle started manufacturing polyurethane wheels .

In the course of further growth, the new administration building was completed and occupied in 2002. In 2006 a new branch of production emerged with participation in a plastic injection molding company and the foundation of the company BW-Plast GmbH. The company was integrated directly at the Rosenfeld location . In 2010 Blickle invested in a logistics center with an automatic high-bay and small parts warehouse. The Blickle Vertriebsgesellschaft was founded in Taicang , China , three years later . In 2014 Blickle took over the Swiss reel manufacturer Progressus AG. A year later, a third high-bay warehouse with a height of 40 meters was built at the headquarters in Rosenfeld . Sarah Blickle-Fenner and David Blickle, the third generation, have been active in the company since 2017.

In the last few decades the family company has developed into one of the world's leading manufacturers of wheels and castors.
