Marcel Gobillot

Marcel Gobillot (born January 3, 1900 in Paris , † January 12, 1981 in Montreuil ) was a French cyclist and Olympic champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Gobillot had its greatest sporting success at the Summer Olympics in 1920 in Antwerp , when he and the French team with Fernand Canteloube , Georges Detreille  and Achille Souchard  the team standings in the road race won. In the Olympic individual time trial , he finished 14th. At the UCI Road World Championships in 1921 , he finished ninth in the victory of Gunnar Sköld .
In 1922 he was first independent , then in 1923 professional in the Peugeot-Wolber team , in which Jean Alavoine was captain. He drove in 1924 (retired on the 2nd stage) and the Tour de France in 1926 , in which he retired on the 10th stage with another 21 riders. 1

With the 2nd place in the race Paris-Bourges 1924 he had his best result in a famous road race.
