Jean Alavoine
Jean Alavoine (born April 1, 1888 in Roubaix , † July 18, 1943 in Argenteuil ) was a French cyclist . From 1909 to 1925 he competed in races and achieved a total of 29 victories.
successes
Alavoine won in 1908 as an amateur a. a. the race from Paris to Abbeville . Shortly after this success he became a professional driver. In the Tour de France 1919 he was able to win five of the 15 stages alone, and in the overall classification he was second, as in 1922 and 1923 . In total, Alavoine achieved 17 stage victories in his 11 participations in the Tour de France , plus three stage victories at the Giro d'Italia and two French road championships in 1909 and 1920.
