On the road, his two victories at Paris – Roubaix and stage victories in major tours were his most important.

As early as 1995 Madiot had the idea of founding a cycling team that promotes young riders and to whom he can pass on his experiences. While looking for sponsors, he came across the state lottery company La Française des Jeux . The company was looking for a new presence to present itself to customers. The popular sport of cycling appeared to be a good option. In 1997 the team La Française des Jeux was founded . In addition to road racing , the team was also geared towards cyclocross races. The team celebrated success from the start. In 1997, Frédéric Guesdon Paris-Roubaix and Davide Rebellin won the Clásica San Sebastián and the championship in Zurich .
