Leon Vandaele (born February 24, 1933 in Oostkamp-Ruddervoorde , † April 30, 2000 in Oostkamp ) was a Belgian cyclist ; he was active from 1952 to 1964.

Life

Leon Vandaele was born in Ruddervoorden in West Flanders . In 1948 he was already the winner 21 times; In 1949 he won 10 and in 1950 9 junior races. In 1952 he started as an amateur and had 8 successes. In the following years in the military, he won twice in 1953 and then became a professional driver. In 1954 he won six times, in 1955 three times, in 1956 eight times and in 1957 he won the Paris – Brussels race .
