Jean-Marie Wampers (born April 7, 1959 in Ukkel ) is a former Belgian cyclist .

Career

Jean-Marie Wampers was a professional driver from 1981 to 1992 . The greatest success of his career was the victory at the Monument des Radsports Paris – Roubaix in 1989 , after he caught the runaway Dirk De Wolf nine kilometers from the finish and hit in a two-man sprint. Other important successes included his victories at Rund um Henninger-Turm in 1986 and 1989 and at the Scheldepreis in 1989. In 1986, he came third in the classic Gent-Wevelgem .
