Wim Omloop (born October 5, 1971 in Herentals , Flanders ) is a former cyclist . He was a professional from 1993 to 2001.
Athletic career
After Omloop won the Tour of Flanders U23 and the Belgian championship among the amateurs in 1992 , he took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
In 1993 Roosen switched to the professional and was second at De Kustpijl and fourth at Binche-Tournai-Binche . In the following year, in addition to his victories at Grote Prijs Marcel Kint and Gullegem Koerse , he was able to finish second at Grote Prijs Stad Zottegem and third at Halle-Ingooigem . In 1995 he was able to place third at the Liedekerkse Pijl. In 1996 and 1997 no other noteworthy placements are known.
1998 was probably his most successful season in terms of points achieved. In addition to his victories, Omloop was second at Omloop van het Waasland , De Kustpijl , Omloop van de Westhoek, Omloop Vlaamse Scheldeboorden , fourth at Nationale Sluitingsprijs and the national championships in road races, and sixth at Schelteprijs . In 1999 he finished third at the Ronde van Midden-Zeeland .
In 2000 he was second at GP Rudy Dhaenens , GP de Villers-Cotterets and Halle-Ingooigem . After April 2001, he ended his career.
