Henri Van Kerckhove (born September 6, 1926 in Brussels , † November 4, 1999 in Leuven ) was a Belgian cyclist.

career

As an amateur, he won the Belgian road championship in 1946 and then the bronze medal at the cycling world championship in Zurich . The following year he turned professional.

In the following years he achieved several successes in one-day races as well as stage victories in tours. In 1952 he won the Tour of Belgium in front of Marcel De Mulder and Georges Vermeersch . He was able to repeat this success in 1954 when he landed in front of Rik Van Looy , Marcel Hendrickx and Omer Braeckeveldt . A total of 42 wins have been recorded for him, 20 of them in pure road races alone.

He ended his career in 1960.

His son Florent Van Kerckhove was also active as a cyclist.
