Belgium tour
The Tour of Belgium (. French Tour de Belgique ., NDL Ronde van Nederland ) is in Belgium hosted a wheel - stage race . It is held today under the name Baloise Belgium Tour .
history
The Tour of Belgium has been held annually since 1908 with a few interruptions. The race did not take place during the world wars. In the period between 1982 and 2001, the Tour of Belgium was only operated irregularly due to its decreasing popularity. It has been taking place again without interruption since 2002. When the ProTour was introduced in 2005 , the stage race was included in the UCI Europe Tour and classified in category 2.1.
Ratings
As with other tours, the Tour of Belgium has different ratings. The respective leader in a classification wears a jersey in a certain color. The individual ratings are sponsored by different companies. The respective sponsor is named on the jerseys.
Overall rating
The overall leader wears the red jersey in the individual ranking. The winner of the tour is whoever has the least travel time after the last stage.
Scoring
The driver with the most points from all stages is allowed to wear the blue jersey in the next stage. The rider who wears the jersey after the last stage has won the points classification for the entire tour.
Sprint scoring
The leader in the sprint ranking receives the black jersey.
Young talent evaluation
The best rider in the overall ranking who is no longer than 24 years old in the year of the event will receive the white jersey.
Team evaluation
The leading team can be recognized by their jerseys with yellow numbers.
