Adolphe Braeckeveldt

Adolphe Braeckeveldt , also Adolf Braeckeveldt , (born October 6, 1912 in Sint-Denijs-Westrem , † August 4, 1985 in Lovendegem ) was a Belgian cyclist .

As a junior, Adolphe Braeckeveldt was third in the Belgian road championship in 1934. He was a professional from 1935 to 1944 . The greatest successes of his career were a victory at the Flèche Wallone in 1937, three victories - 1936, 1938 and 1939 - at the Grand Prix de Wallonie and his victory in the Tour of Belgium in 1937. Also in 1937 he was fourth on the Tour of Flanders and third in 1938 the overall ranking of the Tour of Luxembourg .

Once - in 1937 - Braeckeveldt started the Tour de France and won a partial stage at the same time as the German Heinz Wengler .
