Henricus Theodorus Josephus (Servais) Knaven (born March 6, 1971 in Lobith ) is a Dutch sports director and former cyclist .

Career

Knaven became a professional in 1994 with the cycling team TVM . He achieved his greatest success in 2001 as the winner of the classic Paris – Roubaix , when he broke away from a top group of seven as an outsider 10 kilometers from the finish, benefiting from the fact that his attack was covered by three other teammates in this top group.

In April 2010, Servais Knaven announced his retirement from active cycling in August of the same year and moved to the team management of his Milram . After the Milram team closed, he moved to Team Sky as sporting director .
