Joep Franssen

Joep Franssen (born December 6, 1899 in Voerendaal , † February 27, 1975 in Ubachsberg ) was a Dutch cyclist .

Joep Franssen, nicknamed "Jupke", was a professional racing driver from 1922 to 1933. In 1924 he won the Ronde van Zuid-Limburg . In 1927 he became the Dutch road champion, after having taken third place in 1925. In 1929 and 1930 he took part in the road world championship, but without achieving an outstanding placement.

In the 1920s, Franssen opened a bicycle shop in Ubachsberg, which is now in the third generation of the family.
