Hans Dekkers (1951)

Hans Dekkers (born June 16, 1928 in Eindhoven ; † August 31, 1984 ) was a Dutch road cyclist .

After he had won the Omloop Tour of the Kempen in 1949 , he came in second behind Wim Dielissen at the amateur road championships in 1950 .

In 1951 he switched to the professional camp and won the road race at the Dutch championships in sprint before Wim van Est and Wout Wagtmans and took part in the Tour de France for the first time .

In 1952 Dekkers was again national champion. In this year's Tour de France , he won the 19th stage from Pau to Bordeaux and finished 60th overall.

In 1955 Dekkers ended his sporting career and joined the Dutch army .
