Léon Hendrik Jan van Bon (born January 28, 1972 in Asperen, Lingewaal ) is a former Dutch cyclist .

Even as a junior driver, Léon van Bon was multiple Dutch champions in various disciplines on the track . In 1991 he became national amateur championship in points driving . In 1992 he repeated this success and was also a champion in two-man team driving .

Léon van Bon celebrated his first major success in 1996 with a stage win at Tirreno-Adriatico ; he also won the overall ranking of Vienna-Rabenstein-Gresten-Wien . He drove for several years with Rabobank (1994 to 2000), during which he won two stages in the Tour de France , a stage in the Vuelta a España and the one-day race HEW Cyclassics as well as the Mallorca Challenge (1998). During his time at Lotto (2003 to 2006) he won a stage of the Germany Tour and achieved a stage victory at Paris – Nice . In 2005 he became Dutch road racing champion for the second time after 2000.

In 1992 von Bon started at the Olympic Games in Barcelona and won the silver medal in the points race on the track. In 1997 he was third in the road race of the World Championships in San Sebastian . He ended his career in 2013.
