Bouk Schellingerhoudt

Robert "Bouk" Schellingerhoudt (born May 4, 1919 in Zaandam , † September 19, 2010 ibid) was a Dutch cyclist .

Bouk Schellingerhoudt was a professional racing driver from 1942 to 1954. In 1946 he became Dutch road racing champion. 1949 Third of the Ronde van Nederland . In 1947 he took part in the Tour de France .

Schellinghoudt's original first name was Robert, but in the peloton he was only called "Bouk", so he had his name officially changed.

After the end of his cycling career Schellingerhoudt opened a tobacco shop in his hometown of Zaandam. In 2009 he was awarded the “Zilveren Wiel” (Silver Wheel) by the Dutch cycling association Koninklijke Nederlandsche Wielren Unie (KNWU) for his outstanding services to cycling . The occasions were his 90th birthday and the 40th anniversary of the youth cycling school of his association "Door Training Sterk", which he founded.
