Right through Gendringen

Across Gendringen (also Dwars door Gendringen ) was a Dutch cycle race around the town of Gendringen in Gelderland .

The race was held from 1951, but professionals were only allowed from 1996. From 1997 the route also ran through the German border town of Anholt. The race started there from 1998. For this reason the race was renamed Dwars door Gendringen / Anholt . The competition took place annually at the end of August. The drivers had to complete 14 laps on a 14.1 kilometer circuit. Across Gendringen / Anholt was part of the UCI Europe Tour and classified in category 1.1.

In 2005 the race planned for August 21, 2005 had to be canceled due to a lack of sponsorship contributions on the German side; since then it almost stopped taking place.
