Valentin Huot (born May 1, 1929 in Creyssensac-et-Pissot , Dordogne department , † November 21, 2017 ) was a French cyclist .

Valentin Huot was a professional cyclist from 1953 to 1962. Twice - 1957 and 1958 - he was French road racing champion . In 1954 he also won Paris-Limoges , in 1955 the Polymultipliée , in 1956 the Grand Prix de Plouay and the Circuit de l'Aulne and in 1960 the Grand Prix Midi Libre . He started six times in the Tour de France ; In 1956 he was third in the mountain classification, and in 1959 he was the first to cross the Col de Peyresourde .

In July 2011 Valentin Huot was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur ; he received the award from his cycling colleague Raymond Poulidor .
