Nacer Bouhanni (born July 25, 1990 in Épinal ) is a French road cyclist .
Career
After Bouhanni won the second stage of the Tour de Gironde in the 2010 season and was fourth in the road race at the U23 European Championship, he went to the end of the season for the French ProTeam FDJ as a stagiaire , where he received a professional contract in 2011.
In the following years he won numerous sprint races, including the French road championship in 2012 in front of his team-mate Arnaud Démare and the semi-classic Grand Prix de Fourmies in 2013 in front of André Greipel . After Bouhanni had no stage wins in 2012 at the Vuelta a España and in 2013 at the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France and did not finish the races, he made his breakthrough in the “Grand Tours” with three stage wins and the points classification at the Giro d 'Italia 2014 . Nevertheless, his team did not field him for the subsequent Tour de France , which was linked to his upcoming move to the Cofidis team. In the subsequent Vuelta a España , he won two stages.
In 2015 Bouhanni won the overall ranking in the individual ranking of the UCI Europe Tour with victories at the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe , the Grand Prix de Denain , the Circuito de Getxo and Halle-Ingooigem, among others . He also had two stage wins at the Critérium du Dauphiné , a UCI WorldTour race . In 2016 he won a. a. Stage wins on the Tour of Catalonia and Paris-Nice . In addition, he secured the overall victory in the Tour de Picardie and the points classification plus two stages.
In June of that year Bouhanni injured his hand in a fight with another - allegedly drunk - hotel guest. The wound became infected so that he could not start the 2016 Tour de France . At the EuroEyes Cyclassics 2016 in Hamburg he was the first to cross the finish line, but due to a handicap (dangling) in the sprint against Caleb Ewan, he was distanced to the end of the group with which he crossed the finish line.
