Roland Berland (born February 26, 1945 in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salle ) is a former French cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

His first great success was winning the Paris – Tours race for amateur e in 1966. Just one year later, he won the championship in the amateur road race. Roland Berland was a professional cyclist from 1968 to 1980. During this time he was twice French road racing champion - in 1972 and 1979. He started eight times in the Tour de France , but could not distinguish himself in any year. He achieved his best placement in 1973 as 28th. In all starts he reached the finish in Paris every time. In 1973 he won Paris-Bourges , he was second at the championship in Zurich and in 1980 at Bordeaux-Paris .

Professional

After his career, Berland ran a bicycle shop in Les Herbiers .
