Strauss (family)
Strauss is the name of a legendary Austrian family dynasty that produced several waltz composers and excellent band masters, one of the members also wrote well-known operettas.

The composer Richard Strauss (1864–1949) is neither related to the family nor by marriage. The same applies to the operetta composer Oskar Straus (1870–1954), the composer Edmund von Strauss (1869–1919), the Karlsruhe court conductor Joseph Strauss (1793–1866) and the American guitarist Nita Strauss (* 1986).
In 1954 the short film Strauss Fantasy with and about the family's music was released.
