Nita Strauss (* 7. December 1986 in Los Angeles , California as Vinita Sandhya Strauss ) is an American guitarist. She became known for her work with the band The Iron Maidens . Her career has included various rock ensembles such as the band Femme Fatale and the LA Kiss background group. In June 2014 she replaced Orianthi in the band of American hard rock musician Alice Cooper . She also ranked # 1 on Guitar World's Top 10 Female Guitar Players To Knowlisted. It is often rumored that she comes from a long line of classical musicians and that one of her ancestors on her father's side is the Austrian composer Johann Strauss , which is genealogically incorrect.

Life

Her interest in active guitar playing originally aroused the 1986 feature film Crossroads - Pact with the Devil in early adolescence. Especially guitarist Steve Vai , who plays a supporting role in the film, was an inspiring influence on her. In June 2014 it was announced that Strauss would replace Orianthi as Alice Cooper's touring guitarist for the 2014 tour dates. She continued this role in 2018.

Nita Strauss is the lead guitarist on seven songs in Dockers Guild entitled The Heisenberg Diaries - Book A: Sounds of Future Past , published January 21, 2016. Strauss met Docker through their mutual friend Jeff Gilooly.

In 2018, Nita Strauss began appearing on WWE shows. On April 8, she performed at WrestleMania 34 and played guitar in a live performance of Shinsuke Nakamura's opening theme. On October 28, Strauss performed with Lzzy Hale on WWE Evolution.

In March 2018, Strauss started a Kickstarter project to finance her own album. What she said about this was that she was unwilling to sign with a record label as it would affect the ability of her band and allow them to make their own decisions.
