The Iron Maidens is a metal band from Los Angeles ( California ), founded 2,001th The band consists exclusively of female members and sees itself as a tribute band , the songs of the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden covert and outputs corresponding concerts.

history

The origins of the band are in the Iron Maiden tribute band Wrathchild . Singer Jenny Warren and bassist Melanie Sisneros decided in June 2001 to start a new project called The Iron Maidens . Linda McDonald ( drums ), Josephine Draven ( guitar ) and Sara Marsh (guitar) joined the band.

In 2003 the band started working on their first album. Meanwhile, Jenny Warren announced that she was leaving the band for personal and family reasons. She was replaced by Aja Kim, with whom the band released their debut album World's Only Female Tribute to Iron Maiden in June 2005 . Shortly thereafter, guitarist Josephine Draven left the band.

In May 2007 the second album Route 666 was released . Phil Campbell ( Motörhead ) appeared as a guest musician .

On July 25, 2007, the band appeared in Laguna as the opening act for Kiss . In 2008 she performed in Greece , Turkey , Kuwait and Iraq .

In the summer of 2008 there was another line-up change; among other things, Aja Kim left the band to start a solo career. Courtney Cox (guitar) and Kirsten Rosenberg (vocals) joined the band as new members.

In January 2010 a five-concert tour of Japan followed , of which a DVD was released in August 2010 under the title Metal Gathering Tour Live in Japan 2010 . During this tour, guitarist Sara Marsh fell due to illness and left the band.

In 2011 the band performed in Canada , Peru and Brazil, among others . On March 26, 2011, she played in front of 40,000 spectators in Barquisimeto ( Venezuela ). In the pre-sale for this concert, The Iron Maidens set a new record by selling 5,000 tickets in the first 24 hours, surpassing Metallica's 2010 pre-sales record , which sold 6,000 tickets within two days. In addition, The Iron Maidens were the first all-female heavy metal band ever to appear publicly in Venezuela. On April 5, 2012, the band played at the Rolling Stone Cafe in Jakarta , Indonesia .

On September 9, 2013, they performed at the legendary The Roxy on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood . This performance was broadcast across America on AXS TV as part of the Katie Daryl-produced television series World's Greatest Tribute Bands .

In autumn 2013 the band gave concerts in Trinidad , Hawaii and the Dominican Republic .

In March 2015, the band completed a European tour with concerts in Germany , Switzerland , the Netherlands and Belgium . From April to July 2015, the band toured the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and Mexico . According to Bruce Dickinson , the band Iron Maiden attended a performance by the tribute band in Mexico.

The individual band members see themselves in their functions as doppelgangers of the musicians of the band Iron Maiden and assign themselves appropriate pseudonyms . The band currently consists of the following members:

Some of the band members are also active in other musical projects. On June 12, 2014 it was announced that Nita Strauss will be playing guitar in Alice Cooper's band on his upcoming North American tour.

Mention was The Iron Maidens , among others in influential media such as Rolling Stone and the New York Times .

At the end of December 2014, the band reached the one million “ likes ” mark on their official Facebook page.
