Tribute band
A tribute band is a music group from the field of pop music or rock music whose aim is to reproduce pieces of music from a well-known band as faithfully as possible. Since most tribute bands do not endeavor to produce their own pieces of music, their work is essentially concentrated on live performances.
In contrast to a cover band , where your own interpretations of foreign pieces of music are also common, tribute bands concentrate primarily on the perfect imitation of a well-known band. In doing so, they often don't just limit themselves to copying the music, but also emulate their role models in their external appearance. Performances by tribute bands are sometimes like a perfect reproduction of shows by the original artists.
However, not all are limited to simply copying the works of the originals. If the original improvised or improvised at its concerts, some tribute bands do the same and also improvise during their live performances (for example the German Deep Purple tribute band Demon's Eye ).
The band name is often derived from the name of the musical role model or his works (e.g. Easy Daisy ( AC / DC ), Cheap Purple (Deep Purple), Adam's Brain ( Bryan Adams ) or Roxanne ( The Police )) to easily identify with to be associated with the original. Some bands (for example Deep Purple, Kiss and ABBA ) have publicly expressed themselves benevolently about some of the tribute bands.
