The RÄMOUNS were a German Ramones - Tribute band from Dusseldorf and by the end of 2010 active. It was considered one of the best Ramones tribute bands in Germany.

history

It was founded in 1999, three years after the official last concert of the original Ramones . The idea was to get the Ramones show on stage as real as possible. Outfit, instruments, movements and playing style should be copied exactly. The band name is a phonetic Germanization of Ramones . The Rämouns premiered on March 31, 2000 in a sold out “Flux” in Velbert . In the following years she played all over Germany, some sold out concerts, but also in the Netherlands , Belgium and Austria as well as Argentina. In 2002 the band made an appearance on local television at WDR , where they played back a version of Rockaway Beach that had to be quickly recorded in a studio the day before.

In 2005 the Rämouns flew to Argentina for several concerts and were invited to the nationwide live radio show "Rock & Pop", followed by call-in interviews by the audience. In this context, a live recording of the band was broadcast nationwide, which was recorded in Münster that same year. Furthermore, the band was featured in magazines with full-page articles and played in the opening act for Beatsteaks . The tour in Argentina was accompanied by a camera team and captured for posterity as a documentary entitled Evita is a Punk Rocker . In 2009 the band produced a Ramones-style record of Beach Boys covers, which was released on Wolverine, entitled Rockaway Beach Boys . In 2010 the band officially announced their breakup and gave a farewell concert in December.

literature

In 2003, the Rämouns found a mention in the Ramones biography of Everett True: Everett True: Hey Ho Let's Go - The Story Of The Ramones. Omnibus Press 2002, ISBN 0-7119-9108-1 (English).
