The Johnny Cash Experience or The Cash Experience was a German tribute band in the country music genre , named after their role model, Johnny Cash , one of the most successful American country singers and songwriters . The five musicians come from the Wesel district on the Lower Rhine .

history

In 2009 the bass-baritone Joe Sander (bourgeois Jochen Schulte) (vocals, guitar), Olaf Hermann (guitar), Oliver Janke (electric bass), Marcus Pelzer (guitar) and Thomas Pelzer (drums) founded the tribute band Johnny Cash Experience . After many concerts, the debut album was produced in 2010 .

2011, the band performed in the JVA Duisburg and was supported by a television crew of WDR accompanied. On November 19, 2011, the album Memories Are Made of This was awarded the Austrian Country Music Award (ACMF) in the International Sound Carriers category. This was followed by appearances across Germany and guest performances at festivals in the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Austria. In March 2013, Marcus Pelzer left the band; 2017 Thomas Pelzer too. Front man and singer Joe Sander and bassist Oliver Janke left the band in January 2019. In November 2019 there was a final farewell concert under the name Joe Sander & Friends for fans in Asia at the Miri Country Music Festival in Miri on the island of Borneo .
