Matthias Schlembach

Matthias Schlembach (* 1901 in Hanover ; † unknown) was a German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Twice, in 1921 and 1922, he was German champion in the amateur road race . In 1921 he defeated Hans Korsch in the final of the championship round around Aachen , in 1922 he defeated Paul Nickel in front of the local hero Erich Möller from Hanover. Until 1925 he drove road races and on the track, then he consistently turned to track races. His greatest success as a train driver was winning the Cologne Gold Cup in 1922 , where he beat Paul Oszmella in a direct comparison . In 1927 he ended his career as a cyclist. Five years later he returned to the cycling track and was active as a pacemaker in standing races .
