Sebastian Krückl

Sebastian Krückl (* 1905 in Bayerisch Eisenstein ; † November 24, 1988 ) was a German racing cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

In June 1920, "Waste" Krückl joined the Rad-Renn-Club 1902 München , which at the time also included drivers like Ludwig Hörmann . In 1934 he became German champion in the amateur road race ahead of Hans Fuhrmann from Erfurt. In the mid-1930s he was the captain of the German national team. He took part in the UCI Road World Championships for Germany twice, in 1934 and 1935, but was eliminated from the race. His outstanding successes included the victories at Rund um München 1931, Quer durch das Bayrisches Hochland 1936, Innsbruck – Bregenz 1931, and a stage win at the Tour of Hungary in 1931. He lost his chances of overall victory (while in the lead) in a fall who forced him to give up the race. In the 1930s he continued to win races such as the Great Saxony Prize , Around Breslau and Across Baden-Württemberg . In 1937 he became president of his association.
