Karl Kittsteiner

Karl Kittsteiner (born June 20, 1920 in Worzeldorf ; † August 12, 2011 in Nuremberg ) was a German racing cyclist .

In 1940 Karl Kittsteiner became the German amateur road champion, and in 1942 he finished third. In 1943 he won around Cologne and took third place at the German Road Championships . In April 1946, Kittsteiner, who had meanwhile become a professional, wrote cycling history: He won the first German circuit road race since the end of the war in Munich ahead of Harry Saager from Berlin .

In the same year Kittsteiner, member of the Nuremberg club RC Herpersdorf , became German road champion. Also in 1946 he won the title of German vice-champion in the two-man team driving as well as in the years 1948 to 1950. In 1954 he was finally German champion of the stayers.
