Timo Scholz (born June 30, 1972 in Leipzig ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Scholz, who started for SC DHfK Leipzig at the time, won his first championship title on the track in 1988. At the GDR youth championships he was the winner in the individual pursuit , the team pursuit and in the points race . In 1995 Timo Scholz won the overall ranking of the Bayern Tour . The next year he won a stage in the Tour of Cuba and a section and the overall ranking in the Tour of Brandenburg . In 2004 he moved to Team Akud Arnolds Sicherheit and in 2006 to Team Notebooksbilliger.de . In 2007 he won a stage in the Tour of Morocco . In 2008 Timo Scholz joined the IndonesiaCycling.com team . Since 2009 he started for the TuS Leutzsch 1990 and the CCN Sport Cycling Team.

From 2004 onwards, Timo Scholz drove standing races . Karsten Podlesch led him as a pacemaker until the end of 2006 . He then drove with Peter Bäuerlein until the 2009 European Standing Championship . At the beginning of the 2010 season, Scholz switched back to Karsten Podlesch as his regular pacemaker.
