Andreas Bach (born October 10, 1968 in Erfurt ) is a former German cyclist and world champion.
Athletic career
Bach started during his career in the GDR for the SC Turbine Erfurt , which became TSV Erfurt after 1990. In the early 1990s, Bach competed in the Rad-Bundesliga competitions for TSV Erfurt . 1986 Andreas Bach became vice-junior world champion in the team pursuit , with Dirk Vogel , Thomas Liese and Jörg Pawelczyk . In 1993 he became vice world champion in the team pursuit in Hamar , together with Torsten Schmidt , Jens Lehmann and Guido Fulst . In the same year he became German runner-up in the single pursuit .
At the UCI World Railroad Championships in Palermo in 1994 , the German four-wheeled team with Bach, Fulst, Lehmann and Danilo Hondo became world champions. In the same year Bach took third place in the national championship in the single pursuit and was second in the Berlin stage trip .
In the period from 1999 to 2005, Bach was, among other things, the sports director and responsible organizer of the International Tour of Thuringia for women and the U23s and the Tour of Hesse . Since then, Andreas Bach has organized "alternative and unconventional cycling events".
