Kelland O'Brien (born May 22, 1998 ) is an Australian cyclist.
Athletic career
After having tried his hand at BMX and mountain biking , Kelland O'Brien began track cycling at the age of 15 . 2015 he was together with Rohan Wight in two-team driving junior world champion in the individual pursuit , he won bronze. In the same year he was also the Australian elite champion in the omnium . The following year he won bronze with Cameron Scott at the Junior World Championships in Madison.
In 2017 O'Brien started with the Australian team at the World Railroad Championships in Hong Kong . In the team pursuit , he became world champion and third in the single pursuit together with Cameron Meyer , Alexander Porter , Nicholas Yallouris , Sam Welsford and Rohan Wight . At the Oceania Championships in the same year he won two titles, in the two-man team driving and in the team pursuit and also won the bronze medal in the single pursuit. In the following years he was again Oceanian champion in various disciplines. In 2019, the Australian four-man with Kelland O'Brien became world champion in the team pursuit.
