Hans-Peter Jakst

Hans-Peter Jakst (born July 23, 1954 in Osnabrück ) is a former German cyclist .

In 1975 Hans-Peter Jakst was third in the road race at the World Military Championships in Bassano del Grappa . In 1976 he competed in the Olympic Games in Montreal , was 37th in the road race, finishing with the German team ( Friedrich von Loeffelholz , Olaf Paltian and Peter Weibel ) in the team time trial fourth. As an amateur he started for the club RRG Bremen . In 1977 he became a professional . In 1979 he became German champion in the professional road race , having finished third the year before. Once, in 1980 , he competed in the Tour de France and finished 62nd. Jakst drove the Giro d'Italia three times and achieved positions 120 (1977), 83 (1978) and 100 (1981) in the overall standings.

In 1981 Jakst was German runner-up in road racing and third in the national championship in two-man team driving with Hans Neumayer .

After finishing his cycling career, Jakst opened a bicycle shop in Bremen in 1984 .
