Sébastien Chavanel (born March 21, 1981 in Châtellerault ) is a former French cyclist . He is a younger brother of professional cyclist Sylvain Chavanel .

Athletic career

Sébastien Chavanel became a professional cyclist at Brioches La Boulangère in 2003 . From 2004 he drove for four years for Team Française des Jeux , then three years for Team Europcar , before returning to Française des Jeux in 2014 . Until 2016 he started at Grand Tours seven times , but could not distinguish himself; In 2015 he was the winner of the Lanterne Rouge at the Tour de France , so he finished last. His greatest success was his victory at the Tour de Picardie in 2008 . He ended his cycling career at the end of the 2016 season.
