Nino Defilippis

Nino Defilippis (* 21st March 1932 in Turin , Italy ; † 13. July 2010 ) was an Italian professional - cyclist .

As an amateur , he won the national team time trial title in 1951 . Defilippis began his professional career in 1952 with the Italian team Legnano. In his first year as a professional, he won a stage in the Giro d'Italia and rode in the pink jersey for two days . In the following years he won several stages in the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España , in 1958 the classic Giro di Lombardia , was twice Italian champion and finally in 1961 vice world champion in road racing. In August 1962 he won the Munich - Zurich long-distance journey , which was held again for the first time after an interruption of 10 years. In 1964 Defilippis ended his active professional career.
