Guido De Rosso

Guido De Rosso (born September 28, 1940 in Farra di Soligo ) is a former Italian cyclist and national champion in cycling .

In 1961, Guido De Rosso won the Tour de l'Avenir . The following year he became a professional and one of the strongest Italian racing cyclists of the 1960s. In 1962 he won the Tour de Romandie and the following year at the Giro del Trentino . In 1963 he was seventh on the Tour of Lombardy . In 1964 he became Italian road racing champion ; In 1964 and 1965 he won the Gran Premio Beghelli and the Trofeo Matteotti and in 1964 the Coppa Placci . In 1966 he was twelfth in Milan-Sanremo , 14th in Paris-Roubaix and 16th in Liège-Bastogne-Liège . In 1967 he decided the Piedmont Tour for himself.

De Rosso competed six times in the Giro d'Italia : in 1963 he finished fourth in the overall standings and in 1964 third. In the 1965 Tour de France he finished seventh. He also competed three times at the UCI Road World Championships . As a professional driver, he has achieved fourteen victories in his career. In 1969 Guido De Rosso ended his cycling career after two unsuccessful seasons in the Faema team with Eddy Merckx .
