Dario Beni

Dario Beni (born June 1, 1889 in Rome ; † February 11, 1969 there ) was an active Italian cyclist from 1907 to 1921 .

His first big success was the third place at the Coppa Bastoggi in 1908. On May 13, 1909 at 2:53 pm he started the first Giro d'Italia with 126 other drivers in Milan . Beni was the winner of the first stage, also won the eighth stage and was seventh overall. In 1909 and 1911 he was the Italian road racing champion. In 1912 he won the overall ranking of the Giro della Romagna , three times he won the Rome - Naples - Rome cycle race (1911, 1912 and 1914).

After finishing his active career, he worked as a sports official at the Italian Cycling Federation.
