Gerd Holzheimer (born May 2, 1950 in Munich ) is a German writer .

Life

Gerd Holzheimer is the son of a surveyor and continues his father's work as a literary surveyor and geo-poet. He studied German , history and philosophy at the University of Munich . 1997 doctorate Holzheimer, the avid hiker , is a study for the poetics of walking in the literature as a doctor of philosophy. After an agricultural apprenticeship on an anthroposophical farm, he was a high school teacher and lecturer for modern German literature and Bavarian literary history at the University of Munich . Holzheimer now lives in Gauting .

He is the author of novels , short stories , reports as well as satirical - essayistic lexicons , etc. a. on topics of literary topography and Bavarian folklore . He writes for various newspapers and magazines, for Bavarian radio and television. He took part in the film Truffle Hunt in the Fünfseenland , wrote the script and screenplay for it. Holzheimer is the artistic director of the literary autumn event series in the Starnberg district and publisher of the journal Literatur in Bayern . As a literary surveyor, he leads literary excursions between the Amazon and the Mandovi River, India and his home on the Würm.

Gerd Holzheimer is an advisory board member of the Bavarian People's Foundation, the Ödön-von-Horváth-Foundation and the Josef-Oberberger-Foundation, as well as a member of the Oskar-Maria-Graf-Gesellschaft , the Fantastische Gesellschaft and the Münchner Turmschreiber . He received u. a. In 1995 he received a recognition award from the Bavarian People's Foundation , in 1997 the Günther Klinge Award from the community of Gauting and in 2002 the Pasinger Art and Culture Award . The state capital Munich awarded him the Ernst Hoferichter Prize in 2013 . In 2015 he was the culture award winner of the Starnberg district.
