The 15th stage of the Tour de France 2017 took place on July 16, 2017. The mountain stage led over 189.5 kilometers in the Massif Central from Laissac-Sévérac l'Église to Le Puy-en-Velay . There was an intermediate sprint after 96 kilometers in Saint-Alban-sur-Limagnole and two mountain classifications in the first, one in the third and one in the fourth category.

The winner of the day was Bauke Mollema , who about 30 kilometers from the finish, shortly after the penultimate mountain classification, the Col de Peyra Taillade , separated from the remaining stocks of a larger group of leaders that had formed at the beginning of the stage. Part of this top group were Warren Barguil , who extended his lead in the mountain classification, and his team-mate Michael Matthews , who won the intermediate sprint of the day, and Tony Martin , who started a solo escape 65 kilometers from the finish, but on the climb to the Col de Peyra Waist drawer was placed. Chris Froome in the yellow jersey got into trouble on this incline after the Ag2r La Mondiale team of third place overall, Romain Bardet , increased the pace and then suffered a defect. But he was able to catch up with the group of favorites who reached the goal 6:25 minutes behind Mollema.
