The 14th stage of the Tour de France 2017 took place on July 15, 2017. It led as a hilly stage over 181.5 kilometers to the southern edge of the Massif Central from Blagnac to Rodez . There was an intermediate sprint in Rabastens after 55.5 kilometers and two mountain classifications in the 3rd category. The final ascent in Rodez measured 570 meters with a 9.6 percent gradient.

The stage winner in the uphill sprint of the decimated front field was Michael Matthews ahead of Greg Van Avermaet . Day seventh Chris Froome was one second behind and took over the yellow jersey from Fabio Aru , who was poorly placed at the beginning of the final climb and was 30th, 25 seconds behind . At the beginning of the stage, Thomas Voeckler , Maxime Bouet , Thomas De Gendt and Timo Roosen attacked , to whom Reto Hollenstein later joined. After De Gendt was caught as the last outlier 13 kilometers from the finish, Maurits Lammertink attacked , followed by Nikias Arndt , Damiano Caruso and Pierre-Luc Périchon . Arndt and Caruso did not cooperate as they were protecting the interests of Matthews and Van Avermaet, and this group was overtaken four kilometers from the finish.
