The 19th stage of the Tour de France 2017 took place on July 21, 2017. The stage led over 222.5 kilometers from Embrun to Salon-de-Provence . There was an intermediate sprint after 136.5 kilometers in Banon and three mountain classifications in the 3rd category.
The stage winner was Edvald Boasson Hagen , five seconds ahead of Nikias Arndt , with whom he initially separated from a top group of nine three kilometers from the finish before he also distanced him. The top group of nine formed 15 kilometers before the finish from a twenty-man breakaway group that had broken away from the peloton after the first mountain classification after 26 kilometers on the descent . The peloton with Chris Froome defending his yellow jersey reached the goal 12:27 minutes back.
